Hurricane winds collapse TDS communications tower in Maine

A communications tower on the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabasset Valley, Maine was severely damaged by hurricane strength winds yesterday afternoon. The tower is owned by Somerset Telephone Company d/b/a TDS Telecom (TDS®) and hosts several cellular phone carriers, as well as other third party communication services.

TDS TV adds Game Show Network to Expanded TV lineup

Previously GSN was only part of the Expanded Plus package, but now it’s available on channel 134 in SD and 1134 in HD to subscribers with either the Expanded Plus or Expanded programming.

Update #5: The severed fiber optics in Yuma have been repaired and services restored. If you are still experiencing issues with your TDS service in Tennessee, please call us at 888-225-5837. Update #4: There are two separate fiber cuts impacting TDS’ services in the Parsons area. The severed fiber optics in Powell have been repaired and services restored. In Yuma, technicians are on-site and splicing is underway.
