Southeastern Wisconsin TDS TV® customers: Weigel negotiation update

We told you in July that we were in negotiations with Weigel Broadcasting to continue carriage of the following channels:

  • WDJT (CBS): Channel 5/1005
  • WJDT-DT2 (MeTV): Channel 19
  • WDJT-DT3 (Heroes & Icons): Channel 38
  • WDJT-DT4 (TouchVision): Channel 39
  • WMLW (The M): Channel 7/1007
  • WMLW-DT2 (Bounce): Channel 40

Despite a series of extensions, our efforts to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement have failed. As a result, we will be pulling these stations from the channel line-up in the following communities effective immediately:

  • Bohners Lake
  • Burlington
  • Elkhorn
  • Johnson Creek
  • New Munster
  • Waterford
  • Wind Lake
  • Wheatland

Please know that we did not make this decision lightly. We feel strongly that it is our responsibility to advocate on behalf of all of our customers so we can bring you the best service at the best price.

We hope to continue talks with Weigel Broadcasting and will provide updates on this situation here moving forward.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on your behalf. And, of course and as always, thank you for being a TDS customer.

About Missy Kellor

Missy works on the Corporate Communications team and reports stories to TDS employees and customers. This is right up her alley because she’s an extrovert and also a big fan of research (really, she’ll look up just about anything that strikes her interest). Missy is a native of Madison, Wis. with an undergraduate in Anthropology and a master’s degree in Life Sciences Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her interest in the Internet as a mass media shaped her work towards a PhD in Journalism and Mass Communications. She’s also worked as an editorial assistant, copywriter, and production artist. In her off hours, Missy is a crafter, Pinterest addict, reader, wife, and mom of two kids.
