Shark Week

Shark Week Swims in for Another Year of Action

Shark Week 2023 is almost underway, as Discovery Channel’s annual week-long shark celebration is scheduled to hit TV screens starting Sunday, July 23. The festivities will be hosted by none other than international movie star and “Aquaman” actor Jason Momoa.

Beginning in July 1988, Shark Week has educated, inspired, and terrified audiences for more than three decades. This year will be no different, with a lineup that features a series of thrilling documentaries and shows that fully display the power and mystery of sharks. Programs include: “Cocaine Sharks,” “Alien Sharks: Strange New Worlds,” and “Jaws vs The Meg,” among many others.

Shark Week 2023 kicks off Sunday, July 23, with “Belly of the Beast: Feeding Frenzy” and airs each night starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT, running until 11 p.m. ET/PT. Shark Week 2023 concludes July 29 with “Megasharks of Dangerous Reefs” at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

With nearly 20 hours of new footage and shows, this year’s Shark Week promises to be one to remember. You can watch Shark Week 2023 on Discovery Channel. All content can also be streamed through Discovery+ and Max (formerly known as HBO Max).
