Summer is finally here and with it, some fantastic new TV watching opportunities. From new series and movies, to returning favorites and special events, there’s lots to catch. Grab a cool drink and your TDS TV+ remote and/or set your DVR so you don’t miss a moment!

May 27: Squid Game, Season 3

It’s the final season for this dystopian survival series and it premieres on May 27. It’s looking like the whole series will be dropping at once, perfect for a binge (if you dare!).

May 29: And Just Like That, Season 3
Sex and the City fans who have been following Carrie’s more recent adventures will get their next fix of drama and fashion starting May 29. Guest stars will include Rosie O’Donnell, Patti LuPone, and more (EW has the scoop).

June 1-30: Passport to Love, Hallmark

Every Saturday in June, Hallmark will premiere a new movie set in an exotic location (here’s the list). There will be movies set in Spain (two of them!), Italy, and Peru. Watch for stars Alison Sweeny, Ashley Williams, Eloise Mumford, Kevin McGarry, Rhiannon Fish, and Alec Santos.

June 8: 78th Tony Awards

Tune in to CBS to see top Broadway actors and musical numbers live on stage. The show starts at 7 p.m. CT and will be hosted by Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo.

June 16: Walking With Dinosaurs

This new, six-part documentary series on PBS will tell the stories of specific dinosaurs using cutting-edge effects and including the latest science discoveries. (With the new Jurassic Park movie coming out in theaters, the timing couldn’t be better!)

June 25: The Bear, Season 4

The Emmy-Award winning favorite about a Chicago restaurant and its staff’s trials and tribulations is set to return June 25 on FX. According to reports, the entire season will debut at once on Hulu for binging.

June 28 (through July 31): Great American Christmas in July

Great American Family is kicking off its month-long summer Christmas movies early. The very first movie will be Destined at Christmas at 8 p.m. Friday, June 28. The network has released the schedule for the first few days already and the rest, we’re sure, will be coming shortly!

July 1 (through July 31): Christmas in July, Hallmark

No word yet on the programming lineup, but Christmas in July has been mentioned on Hallmark’s socials a few times recently, so it’s safe to say you should keep an eye out for more details soon.

July 2: The Old Guard 2

The original Charlize Theron action flick came out in 2020—and it was a surprisingly good Netflix original (80% on Rotten Tomatoes!). Now, the immortal warrior crew is back and it’s likely to be a fun ride.

July 9: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Season 17 (and a new season of South Park)

“The Gang” returns! The long-running sitcom is back starting in July.

July 11: Dexter: Resurrection
Showtime’s serial killer franchise is growing again with Dexter attempting to reconnect with his son (and evading being captured). The series will debut on Paramount+ and start airing on Showtime two days later.

July 20: Shark Week, Discovery

The always entertaining and educational TV event starts on Discovery on Sunday, July 20. This year features a special Dancing With Sharks underwater dancing competition (yes, you read that right) hosted by Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron. Apparently, it will pair “expert divers with their shark partners” and each duo “will attempt to outperform their competitors.” The full programming schedule is coming soon, so keep an eye on Discovery.com for details.

July 25: Happy Gilmore 2
Happy, Shooter, Virginia, and Hal are back! Harnessing the good energy anew, Netflix is airing this long-awaited sequel to the classic (and hilarious) golf movie.

August 6: Eyes of Wakanda; Platonic, Season 2; Wednesday, Season 2
Disney+ is airing the newest Marvel series, and the long-awaited Platonic starts on Apple TV+ (if you missed season 1, this author does recommend!). If that wasn’t enough, Netflix is dropping the first half of the return of Wednesday Addams on Aug. 6 (the first season is worth a watch if you missed it).
