I have featured this artist before, but this album is unquestionably my favorite of their ten studio albums released to date. Cheap Tunes Tuesday: Garbage

In an era where grunge music and alt rock was all the range, Garbage saw an opening and seized it. This isn’t your standard run-of-the-mill 90s alt rock album, it offers much more than that. It somehow managed to be a pop album while maintaining a dark, almost experimental sound. Their self-titled debut was an immediate success critically, with many reviews hailing the album as “innovative.” Today, you can score this popular classic for only $5.

Today’s band was always ‘the next big thing’–referred to as the “next Jane’s Addiction,” then the “next Nirvana,” then the “next Pearl Jam.” While somewhat flattering to be compared with those great groups, all this band wanted to do was step out of that limelight and become their own household name.
