What was PC technology like when each new Star Wars trilogy debuted?

apple_ii_2Even if you’re not a fan of George Lucas’ space opera, you’ll probably enjoy a walk down this memory lane.

Jason, at F-Secure, has taken a look back in time at what home computer tech was like in 1977 when the first Star Wars movie debuted, and again in 1999 when the Lucas released the prequels (with a bit of comparison with today’s gadgets).

It’s easy to forget the Apple II days (but not those rainbow disk drive cords, amiright?), and what Windows 98 looked like on a Compaq Presario. Grab your kids and have them take a peek—they may just better appreciate that smartphone in their hands.
