We love making our homes look, smell and feel in tune with the seasons. The problem? If we raided the Pottery Barn catalog every time a new collection was released, we wouldn’t be able to pay our mortgages. We also seem to generate a bigger collection of “Pinterest Fails” than we do DIY wins, so the “make-it-yourself” route isn’t always the best bet.

As a result, we’ve turned online for inspiration — and found a slew of relatively affordable but high-end-look catalogs and with great websites to bookmark for our new design and decor crushes.

Here are five of our favorites – and a few picks from their seasonal collections that we think you just might not want to live without this fall. Of course, don’t forget to regularly hit up your TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Marshalls or World Market for discounted decorator finds that offer the same looks for even less.

Ballard Designs

Ballard Designs Grapevine Pumpkins

We’d call Ballard Designs’ website Ethan Allen lite. The furniture is similarly stylish and often offers creative customization options, but the prices are infinitely more reasonable. Don’t get us wrong – there’s nothing “discount” about Ballard, but frequent free shipping and sitewide discounts ranging from 15 to 20% on select items make this a must-read when the catalog arrives in the mail each month. Their design blog and Instagram also offer up great inspiration.

We’d totally take these …. earthenware bowls to adorn our coffee table and these easy-to-reuse grapevine pumpkins (which are already on sale!)

Home Decorators Collection

pinecone-wreath

Maybe it’s just the name, but we can’t help but think real designers turn to Home Decorators Collection (HDC) for their client’s needs. They offer a well-rounded selection of just about any decorating item you can think of, and also offer 10 to 15% discount codes rather regularly. We love the ability to shop by room and decor style as well – it streamlines our endless searching.

We’d totally take this … Pinecone and Woodflower Wreath for the front door and this fall garland for the center of the dining room table.

Bellacor

Bellacor offers a similar vibe to both Ballard Designs and Home Decorator Collection, but offers a specialty section just for lighting fixtures. We also love that you can shop specifically by “made in the USA” and “Green items” designations.

We’d totally take this … faux fur throw, perfect to cuddle into while watching the game or sitting in front of the fire on a cool fall night. While we hate to get too ahead of ourselves, they do offer an impressive selection of fake Christmas trees as well.

Grandinroad

trick-treat

Love Halloween? You’ve come to the right place. This awesome home catalog and online retailer offers up some of the best seasonal housewares we’ve seen, with a heavy focus on Halloween goods. From skeletons to witches, zombies and beyond, the site offers full sections for themed accessories to jazz up your abode.

We love thisHalloween tablecloth in a sturdy but stylish burlap, this ‘Trick or Treat’ banner we can totally pretend we made ourselves, and these Olivia and Oscar owl figurines that would look adorable on the mantle from now until Thanksgiving.

Serena & Lilly

Serena & Lilly offers a slightly more modern peppy vibe than the other sites listed, making it a big hit with the younger audiences. We love the stylish but sensible aesthetic and curated feel that reminds us of our favorite design blogs.

We’d totally take these denim table linens, which remind us of back-to-school and rustic indoor-outdoor barbecues.
