SaulA prequel to “Breaking Bad”, “Better Call Saul” is set six years BWW (Before Walter White). In this new show, we meet plain old Jimmy McGill, before he’s adopted the name of Saul Goodman – a play on the phrase, “‘’S’all good, man!” After the name change, Goodman will become known in Albuquerque for his low-budget advertising tagline, “Better Call Saul!”

“Breaking Bad” fans will be familiar with the Albuquerque setting, the dark humor, and the engaging storytelling of creators, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Yet this show is distinctive, the creators say in a press release.

“The show has been a crazy ride for us,” they write. “The character of Jimmy McGill has taken us places we never expected. He’s his own man, and he’s messy and struggling and still finding himself. One day he’ll transform into Albuquerque’s favorite criminal lawyer, but right now he’s a more or less law-abiding underdog on the bottom rung of the legal system.”

The creators praise Bob Odenkirk’s “deeply human performance as unstoppable, inventive Jimmy races through an ethical slalom course, trying to make a name for himself.” The New York Times is calling it the most anticipated show this winter. We can’t wait! “Better Call Saul” premieres in a two-night event on Sunday, Feb. 8, and Monday, Feb. 9, at 10 p.m. on AMC.
