Amazon’s second Prime Day event of 2022 is starting October 11 with loads of savings well before Black Friday. This means other big stores are jumping in with some great deals—and many are starting right now to try and take some market share from the A-to-Z retailer
We’ve rounded up some of places you should start looking for competitive sales—and how you can, in many cases, buy now and still rest assured you’ll get the best price before Christmas.
Target Deal Days
From October 6-8 Target is doing a Deal Days event. We haven’t seen any sneaks yet, but the company said on Monday they’ll have over a half a million deals. “Guests will enjoy up to 50% off new and trending holiday toys, electronics, and video games along with the latest assortment from national brands like Apple, Disney, Cuisinart and Beats.” Important to note: Anything purchased during Deal Days will have their “Holiday Price Match Guarantee.” This means if a Target price goes lower on or before December 24, you can get a price adjustment.
Best Buy
The electronics retailer is offering their own great deals right now. USA Today rounded up a rather large list of Prime-like savings at Best Buy worth perusing that includes everything from TVs to appliances. At least one website is predicting their early Black Friday deals will drop on October 17, so keep an eye out! Note: Best Buy offers a Price Match Guarantee and promises, if the item is identical to a competitor’s product, to match the same price (and this includes Amazon.com). Last year Best Buy said their October offerings would be covered as part of their Black Friday Price Guarantee—prices were even automatically adjusted for My Best Buy or Totaltech members. Hopefully they’ll do the same this year.
Walmart
Not to be outdone, Walmart is offering Deals for Days with new price rollbacks promised October 10-13. A quick peek at what they have on sale right now include Bose QuietComfort earbuds at $80 off, a Wyze robo vac for $100 off, $50 off Series 3 GPS Apple Watches, Google Nest security cameras for $60 off, and lots more (and more to come). Note: We’re not seeing anything about Walmart’s price match policy being different than normal, so be sure to check the fine print to make sure their existing policy will work for you.
Kohl’s
The department store says they’re rolling out holiday savings starting October 6 through Christmas Eve. Also special, they’re doing a Bricktober event with a full month of LEGO deals with up to 20% off building sets. Also keep an eye out for a Kohl’s Cash promo coming after October—Chain Store Age reports you can earn dollars every day between Cyber Monday and Christmas Eve.
These are sales we know about right now, but more info is likely to come. Deal-tracking websites and consumer journalists are thinking there could be deals coming from Lowes, Home Depot, and possibly Bed, Bath & Beyond. We’ll keep an eye out and if you know of one we missed, drop us a note in the comments.
