Weekly tech news roundup: Start-up edition

Kickstarter and Indiegogo are the go-to sites when you’re looking for upcoming ideas and products. They help start-ups set goals and get funding, while also generating promotion for their business. Check out a few projects that are using these platforms!

The Keurig for your clothes

The Tersa Steam wants people to rethink the way they clean their clothes and they’re using Indiegogo to help them raise money for their project. This new invention doubles as a wall-mounted mirror and is designed to de-wrinkle, deodorize, add scent and dry almost all of your clothes in only 10 minutes. This machine uses the slogan “the Keurig for your clothes” because it uses scent pods (but unlike K-cups, they’re recyclable) to get the clothes smelling fresh and clean. Check out the video below to see the Tersa Steam in action!

The device was created to help users find their car with the GPS tracker, record video footage if any damage happens to the car, and also get alerts when the car is started or leaves a certain geographic region.

The SolarBox Speaker

The SolarBox combines solar power with a Bluetooth Audio speaker, to create a powerful and durable solar powered speaker. With only 10 minutes of sunlight the SolarBox can play for 30 uninterrupted minutes and when fully charged, the speaker can last up to 30 hours without sunlight. In addition, the speaker is made to be durable through outside conditions—it’s water, shock, and dust-proof.
