Sometimes you need to see it to believe it. TDS just started boring under the Tombigbee River to bring broadband Internet service to customers who do not currently have high speed services near Coffeeville, Ala.

We are boring under the Tombigbee River to place pipes that will protect fiber optic lines. When done the project will connect nearly 500 customers in the area. The construction crew is pushing 30 foot rods about 20 feet below the river. This process continues until they reach the other side of the river, approximately 2,000 feet. The rods are then used to pull in the steel pipes which will eventually house the fiber and be used to connect customers to the high-speed Internet services.
