At TDS Telecom, giving back to the community is a crucial part of the company’s culture. Through initiatives such as TDS Cares, the company especially focuses on supporting organizations that address basic needs, promote STEM education, and embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B).
TDS’s Be Good Citizens program gives associates an opportunity to give back by offering 16 hours of paid time off for volunteering each year. In 2023, employees clocked in 1,400 volunteer hours, adding to over 20,000 total hours logged since 2009. The Volunteer of the Quarter program also recognizes associates who go above and beyond in serving their communities.
The company’s second annual Week of Giving in 2023 resulted in 275 volunteer hours across 120 organizations, showcasing its commitment to making a difference. Furthermore, the company has raised $700,000 through its TDS Open golf outing and donated $1 million to charitable causes in 2023.
Additionally, TDS’s Hometown Hero awards celebrate local heroes — like Meridian, Idaho veterans advocate Lucas O’Neil and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho nonprofit leader Cindy Wood. The company also partners with its home-state Green Bay Packers to recognize outstanding educators, continuing its commitment to community growth and educational empowerment.
Since 2020, TDS has awarded $85,000 in DEI&B Community STEM funds, reinforcing its dedication to building a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
These efforts showcase how corporate responsibility can contribute to meaningful community impact. We’re excited to continue helping our communities prosper for many years to come!
