TDS proudly wrapped up its fourth annual Week of Giving, a company-wide initiative dedicated to making a positive impact in communities across the TDS footprint. From Dec. 1–5, associates went above and beyond their normal philanthropic activities, volunteering their time and donating resources to support local nonprofits. In total, TDS contributed more than $45,000 in monetary and in-kind donations during the week.

“One of our core values as an organization is investing in our communities through volunteerism and other philanthropic activities,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Telecom Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “The Week of Giving is another way for all of us at TDS to live that value and focus our efforts to make a difference.”

Highlights from this year’s campaign include:

Monetary Donations

  • Fort Atkinson, WI: $2,000 to BASE’s capital campaign for a new community center with youth spaces and a STEM lab.
  • Sparta, WI: $1,000 to the Sparta High School robotics team (Sparta Robotans).
  • Eau Claire, WI: $1,000 to the Children’s Museum to support STEM/STEAM programming.
  • Central Wisconsin: $1,200 to Peyton’s Promise and $500 to the Stevens Point Community Food Pantry.
  • Helena, MT: $1,000 to Exploration Works for STEM program expansion.
  • Lewis and Clark County, MT: $500 to 4-H to support a student STEM project.
  • Southern Utah: $1,000 to Southern Utah University for fiber optic sensory lighting kits.
  • Butte, MT: $1,000 to the Butte Emergency Food Bank.

In-Kind Donations

  • Nampa, ID: Donated 100 sleeping bags and 70 cold-weather kits donated to the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter.
  • Meridian, ID: Donated a TDS bucket truck full of food delivered to the Idaho Food Bank during its month-long food drive.

Volunteer Efforts

  • Fort Atkinson, WI: Seven associates volunteered 14 hours with BASE, providing after-school care for elementary students.
  • Meridian, ID: Fifteen associates packed potatoes for the Idaho Food Bank.
  • Central Wisconsin: Associates volunteered with Blessings in a Backpack to ensure students have weekend meals.
  • Verona & Middleton, WI: Delivered coffee and donuts to local police.
  •  departments and visited Maydm, an organization empowering girls and youth of color in STEM.
  • George, UT: Prepared and served a warm, hearty dinner at SwitchPoint, a local homeless shelter. Volunteers also donated essential kitchen. supplies, including food-handling gloves, hand soap, carryout containers, and disposable cutlery.

The Week of Giving is part of TDS’ Be Good Citizens program, which provides associates 16 hours of paid volunteer time annually. In 2024, TDS associates gave nearly 2,000 volunteer hours across 311 organizations, continuing a tradition of service that has totaled more than 22,000 hours since 2009.

Together, TDS associates are building stronger communities and brighter futures—one act of kindness at a time.
