At TDS, one of our Shared Values is investing in our people and the communities we serve by encouraging personal growth and development, local volunteerism, and philanthropic activities.
We recognize the importance of being good corporate citizens and enriching the communities in which we live and work. With this priority in mind, TDS established its “Be Good Citizens” Volunteer Program in 2009, which provides our associates with 16 hours of paid volunteer time each year.
Since the program’s inception, our associates have demonstrated an unwavering dedication to community service, collectively contributing over 22,000 hours of volunteer work!
Reflecting on last year
2024 was a remarkable year for volunteerism among our associates. 308 associates volunteered a program record-breaking 1,854 hours, supporting approximately 311 organizations across the nation. These unique organizations highlight the various interests, passions, and causes of our associates, from supporting local education programs and food banks to participating in environmental clean-up efforts and health initiatives.

One standout event from 2024 was TDS’ third annual Week of Giving campaign, held Dec. 1-7. Throughout this week, 62 associates volunteered 228 hours, and TDS donated over $100,000 to impactful organizations throughout our service areas. With themed giving events like Cyber/STEM Monday, Giving Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thankful Friday, and Food Bank Friday, this effort allowed us to make a significant impact in a short period of time, supporting numerous community projects and initiatives.
Looking ahead
As we move forward, TDS remains committed to fostering a culture of volunteerism and community engagement. We are incredibly proud of our associates’ contributions and the positive impact they continue to make year after year. Their dedication embodies the true spirit of TDS, and together, we will continue to make a difference.
