As always, we advise customers to be on alert for phishing attempts that mention your TDS services. Carefully check for:
- A sender name and email address that match. If they don’t match, it’s a red flag the sender isn’t who they say they are.
- Spelling and grammar mistakes. Large errors in business communications are rare but in phishing attempts are typically obvious and/or frequent.
- Accurate links. Hover over any links to reveal the web address before clicking. If it doesn’t reflect the business who purportedly sent the communication, be on alert. Look up the sender’s contact information yourself and reach out to verify everything is on the up and up.
- Suspicious attachments. Scammers will attach .exe files that could actually be malicious software. If you’re not expecting a file attachment, hesitate before clicking.
