The TDS family has once again shown its dedication to making a difference in our communities. This year, our annual charity golf event, the TDS Open, raised an unprecedented $165,000 for two charities—Badger Childhood Cancer Network (Madison, Wisconsin) and Project 16:49 (Janesville, Wisconsin).
Held at the picturesque University Ridge Golf Course just outside of Madison, this year’s event saw a remarkable turnout of associates, vendors, and volunteers, all uniting for a common cause. More than 170 people came together to support these noble causes.
Platinum-level sponsors, including Calix, CoPilot, Salesforce, and Tak Communications, Inc., each contributed $10,000, while executive-level sponsors like AE Business Solutions/Rubrik, Clearfield, CommScope, Evolution, F-Secure, Lumen, Millenium, Netceed, Nokia, Precision, Radd Networks, Sidley, Tilson, and Xperi each donated $5,000. Over 60 additional vendors also contributed at various levels, and funds were raised through raffle tickets, mulligan sales, and hole contests.
“This is the largest amount this annual event has raised, topping our record-setting total of $130,000 last year,” said President and CEO Jim Butman. “We are honored to support kids (and their families) fighting cancer and life-threatening blood disorders, as well as homeless, vulnerable youth in our communities.”
A Tradition of Giving
Since the TDS Open became a charity event in 2011, it has raised nearly $905,000 for over a dozen charities. This year’s $165,000 raised was in large part due to the efforts of the TDS Open Committee—an associate-led group that does everything from fundraising and vendor outreach to charity selection, event setup, catering, raffle prize sponsorship, and everything in between.
“Being able to generate the amount we did this year is a huge testament to the dedication and commitment of my fellow committee members,” said Barry Fermanich, director of Network Configuration and Tech Support. “Everyone put in tremendous effort over the past few months, and we were able to see it all come together wonderfully. I’m so proud of everything we accomplished and can’t wait for next year!”
Looking Forward
Next year, the TDS Open is poised to eclipse over $1 million in charitable donations over the past 15 years. We look forward to this incredible milestone and continuing this tradition of giving and community support.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the TDS Open a resounding success. Your participation and generosity are the heart of our company’s commitment to making a positive impact. Let’s keep this momentum going into next year!
