TDS is working hard to bridge the digital divide and bring faster internet speeds to customers throughout our service footprint – including in rural areas and underserved locations.
Through the Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model (E-ACAM) program and TDS private investment, TDS is doubling down on its commitment to improve rural broadband. E-ACAM is a multi-year, federal program that provides funding to deploy and support 100/20 Mbps or faster broadband service to some of the most rural geographies in our service areas.
Construction will continue through 2028 across 23 states. We recently launched a map on our website that allows you to enter your address to learn if upgrades are planned for your area. Check out the map here.
“TDS was founded on the premise of bringing reliable and modern communications services to underserved areas of rural and smalltown America. As we’ve grown into a national leader in fiber-optic construction, we remain committed to bridging the digital divide for our most hard-to-serve customers,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
TDS has broken ground on E-ACAM projects across the country. Our construction projects will lay thousands of miles of fiber in 2025 alone, with more planned as we continue these network upgrades over the next few years.
In addition, TDS Connect, our affordable high-speed service option, continues to be available to eligible customers.
