According to the Fixed Broadband Performance Report by Ookla®, TDS Telecom holds the first place spot for fastest upload and download speeds in both the Madison area and Wisconsin at large, making it the fastest internet service provider in the state!
Wisconsin’s service has an average download speed of 80.09 Mbps with an upload speed of 16.96 Mbps. Madison’s average download speed is sitting at 96.16 Mbps with an upload speed of 20.87 Mbps. You can read the full report here.
The conclusion of the report states, “As ISPs continue to build out their fiber networks and gigabit-level speeds expand we only expect to see internet speeds increase across the U.S. We’ll check back in next year to see if all parts of the nation are experiencing the same improvements or if some states fall even farther behind.”
With approximately 1.2 million connections nationwide, more than 100 communities across the nation have TDS Fiber. Most recently installed in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, TDS is now focused on bringing fiber to McFarland, Oregon, Windsor, Deforest, and Cottage Grove (communities in Dane County).
