TDS Telecom President & CEO Jim Butman will be honored at the 2024 Best of Madison Business Awards, recognizing his leadership and contributions to the company and community.

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) proudly announces that its President and CEO, Jim Butman, will be honored at the 2024 Best of Madison Business Awards. This prestigious recognition will take place on February 22, 2024, during an annual luncheon hosted by Madison Magazine.

Celebrating Leadership and Excellence in Business

The Best of Madison Business Awards has been a cornerstone event in Madison for 23 years, celebrating the achievements of the city’s foremost business leaders. This year’s event will be held at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Jim Butman, who has dedicated more than 35 years to TDS, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. “I am humbled and honored to receive this award on behalf of TDS,” Butman said. “It is truly a privilege to lead this company and the amazing people within it.”

A Legacy of Growth and Community Impact

Under Butman’s leadership, TDS has seen significant growth, expanding its broadband services to 31 states. The company has made close to a $1 billion investment in Wisconsin by building its fiber-optic internet network in places like Green Bay, Wausau, and the greater Madison area, and the company has topped $1 billion in revenue. His extensive involvement in various boards highlights his commitment to both the company and the broader community. Butman currently serves on the TDS Inc. Board of Directors, the UScellular Board of Directors, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the NCTC Board of Directors, and the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center Board of Directors. He also has a long-standing history with the INCOMPAS Board of Directors.

Selection Process and Past Honorees

The selection of honorees for the Best of Madison Business Awards is conducted by a committee comprising notable figures such as Andrea Behling, editor of Madison Magazine; Zach Brandon, president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce; Neil Heinen, former editorial director of Madison Magazine; and Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

Butman will join a distinguished list of Madison business leaders who have previously received this honor, including Barry Alvarez, former Wisconsin Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, and Frederic “Ric” Ransom, President of UW Hospitals, Madison region.
