Bring on the March Madness!

The phenomenon that grips sports fans across the nation is just around the corner. March Madness officially kicks off March 17, and the battle commences for college basketball’s biggest prize.

Excitement levels are high throughout this single elimination tournament, and here’s why. There’s the frenzy of so many games being played in quick succession, the unexpected victories, the euphoria of winning to play another day, and the agony of losing and going home. And let’s not forget March Madness bracketology, which has become a phenomenon in its own right. Or the reported dip in productivity at work over these weeks!

The NCAA tournament starts with sixty-eight hopeful teams, which are whittled down in each round; to the Sweet 16, the Elite 8 and then the Final 4. The Final 4 play two games over three days to conclude March Madness, and the winner will be declared on April 6 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As in previous years, the games will be broadcast on CBS and the Turner Sports Networks (TNT, TBS and TruTV), with TBS carrying the Final Four games.
