Seen On Pinterest: 4 Ingenious Interior Design Hacks

We love our “Savvy Spending” column nearly as much as we love “Seen on Pinterest,” so this week, you get the best of both worlds. One of our favorite reasons to use Pinterest is to track interior design and architecture updates for our someday “dream” home, as well as more practical tips for creating the perfect abode today. While many of the things we pin are certainly swoon-worthy, both for their beauty and their price, we love a great budget-friendly idea as well.

Go Neutral

Our most-repinned homes are almost always those with tons and tons of white space. Perhaps that’s because white looks, well, expensive. White also makes spaces look clean and larger. Change It Up With Wallpaper & Paint

The best redesigns don’t have to be expensive. Change up the look of your space with the addition of a little color. We’re partial to using wallpaper in a small space, like a bathroom, or trying to enhance an accent wall using a paint trick like stripes. Want the paint to match your decor? Take a pillow or color sample of your fabric to the local hardware store – most will color match to give you a complimentary shade.

Add a “Pop”

Much like paint, a pop of color can brighten up a room. Try one single color, like a splash of pink or teal, or complementing colors and patterns, like black and white or metallics.

Go DIY

You’ll find everything from tutorials on how to make your own penny flooring to how to make that Ikea dresser look like it came from Restoration Hardware on Pinterest. With some basic craft tools and a little bit of time, the savvy decorators on this site can show you how to do just about anything. Here are some of our favorite ideas:
