TDS sponsors bike drive, nets more than 50 bikes

TDS DreamBikes drive 2014For the second year in a row, TDS hosted a bike drive for DreamBikes. On May 9th, more than 50 used bikes were dropped off during the event, along with a number of trikes and nearly a dozen accessories (e.g. tires, seats).

DreamBikes, a Madison, Wisconsin non-profit organization, works to make a difference in the lives of kids, one bike at a time. They accept any and all used bikes (doesn’t matter if they work or not). In turn, they hire and train area youth to fix up and repair the bikes. In addition, they give area youth the opportunity to learn marketing skills, customer service, and event management.

Check out the video from the event and learn a bit more about how old bikes can help kids in the community.

If you have old bikes cluttering up your garage, please consider helping out DreamBikes if you live in the Madison area. If you don’t, we’d suggest looking into donating to local charitable organizations where your bike can get put to good use.
